It happened on Sunday, Nov. 10 on Barnum Avenue in Bridgeport.
When Bridgeport Police patrol units responded to Perfections Lounge on Barnum Avenue at around 9:45 p.m., Stratford Police officers, who happened to be in the area at the time, pursued a suspect who was running from the area.
The suspect eluded capture.
The male victim, age 37, who works as a bouncer at the lounge, was located on the sidewalk at the entrance door on Barnum Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Bridgeport Police said. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is expected to survive.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
